The Beauty of Bluethroats Today I add a short film sequence featuring one of my favourite birds, the Bluethroat (Luscinia svecica). This species is a rare migrant in Spring and Autumn on the East coast of the U.K., yet it is a relatively common breeder in marshy areas on the near continent. This compilation features a male White-spotted Bluethroat, filmed in Northern France in March 2012, and another male, filmed using my Samsung Galaxy smartphone, through a telescope, in Flevoland, the Netherlands, in June 2012. The final still photograph was shot by my friend Michael Adams, in Noord Holland, in early 2011.
