As a brief interlude in my posting of my great grandfather George Charles Champion's letters home from Central America in 1879, today's entry features a series of photographs taken by Eadweard Muybridge four years earlier, in 1875. Unfortunately I did not have these pictures with me during my recent visit to Panama, but some of the views I took were uncannily similar to those taken by Muybridge....had I had his images with me, I would have tried to position myself even closer to the exact spots from which he had taken his shots, but even without them, the comparisons are striking.
